I experienced that feeling one quiet morning in the Pacific Northwest, watching mist drift across the water while the light moved slowly over the horizon. Nothing dramatic was happening, and yet everything about the moment felt powerful—because it reminded me that calm isn’t something we force… it’s something we allow.

That moment stayed with me.

Later, in my studio, I began working with fluid acrylics, allowing the paint to move the same way water does—spreading, flowing, finding its own rhythm instead of being controlled. What started appearing on the canvas looked less like paintings and more like moving horizons… quiet places where the eye could rest and the mind could breathe again.

And that’s how the Calm Horizons collection was born.
